Look, I'll be straight with you. This whole thing started because I was tired of seeing Vancouver's landscape turn into a monotonous sea of glass boxes. Don't get me wrong - I love modern design - but there's gotta be soul in it, y'know?

Back in 2012, fresh out of grad school with a head full of ideas and probably too much confidence, I started sketching buildings that actually gave a damn about the people inside 'em and the environment around 'em. Clients thought I was a bit nuts at first - "sustainable doesn't have to look boring" became my mantra, practically tattooed it on my forehead.

Fast forward to now, and we've grown into a team that's just as obsessed with creating spaces that work WITH nature instead of against it. We're architects, sure, but we're also problem-solvers, tree-huggers (guilty as charged), and honestly, we're a bit stubborn when it comes to doing things the right way.

Why We Do This

Buildings outlive us - that's kinda the point. So we've got this responsibility, whether we like it or not, to make sure what we're putting out there makes tomorrow better than today. Climate change isn't some far-off thing anymore, and every design decision we make either helps or hurts. We choose to help.

2012 - The Beginning

Started the firm with one desk, a laptop that barely ran CAD software, and way too much coffee. First client took a chance on a green residential project - still one of my favorite builds.

2015 - LEED Platinum Achievement

Our commercial project in Gastown hit LEED Platinum - honestly didn't think we'd pull it off with the budget constraints, but the team killed it. That's when bigger clients started taking notice.

2018 - BC Architecture Award

Won for Innovation in Sustainable Design. The award's sitting in our office lobby - it's a nice reminder on tough days that what we're doing matters.

2020 - Urban Planning Expansion

Brought on urban planning specialists because we realized you can't design great buildings in poorly planned neighborhoods. Started consulting on citywide sustainability initiatives.

2022 - Heritage Recognition

Completed restoration of a 1920s heritage building - learned that preserving the past and planning for the future aren't mutually exclusive. Added historic preservation to our service lineup.

2025 - Carbon Neutral Operations

Achieved carbon-neutral operations for our own office - felt hypocritical preaching sustainability without walking the walk. Now we're helping other firms do the same.
